King Kong is back. In 2005, writer/director Peter Jackson, the man responsible for "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy, will direct a new, large-scale remake featuring a monstrous computer generated ape to be created by Jackson's special effects company, WETA Digital. Official Text: An expedition explores a remote island with a gigantic ape deity known as Kong. Kong falls in love with a beautiful actress, who accompanies the expedition, when she is offered as a sacrifice. She is rescued. Kong is captured and taken to New York for exhibition. Kong breaks out of his cage and tries to elope with the actress.
By the early 1930's, many producers were trying to build on the success of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Lost World," an epic adventure film about an expedition to a plateau filled with prehistoric animals, which we brought to life by Willis O'Brien. Merian C. Cooper and Edgar Wallace came up with the story about an island populated by dinosaurs, and of course, a huge silverback gorilla. The tale told of Carl Denham, a filmmaker who heads to the remote Skull Island to capture Kong, a huge creature who the locals hold at bay with a giant barrier that keep the beast locked in his primordial jungle. Ann Darrow, and John "Jack" Driscoll get caught up in the adventure, as Ann is captured by Kong and taken into the interior of his island home, and Jack leads the rescue mission to bring her back. On the way, the explorers are attacked by various types of dinosaurs. Eventually, they capture the gorilla and take him back to civilization, where Kong meets his end on the Empire State Building. The film went down in history as one of the great film adventures to be produced in that time period, and is considered a classic today.

Bem...Não sou grande apreciadora deste tipo de filmes mas o KKard tem as suas vantagens. Para além de nos podermos dar ao luxo de ver todos os filmes que quisermos também podemos arriscar a ver aqueles filmes que doutra maneira pensariamos duas vezes (ou muitas mais) antes de gastar o dinheiro do bilhete de cinema (que é absurdo!).
E assim, ontem fui ver o King Kong do Peter Jackson. Gostei. Pensei que fosse daqueles filmes em que uma pessoa sai da sala de cinema e já nem pensa nele mas o facto é que estou a escrever um "post" sobre o filme...curioso.Tenho a vaga ideia de ter visto uma das muitas versões antigas deste filme, a imagem do Kong em cima do Empire State Building com uma loura numa das mãos é-me familiar. Gostei do filme porque me ri, saltei da cadeira, tive nojo/medo/impressão das poliquetas e dos demais insectos gigantes, quase que fiquei emocionada e no fim quase que queria gritar com a Naomi Watts para não matarem o Kongzinho (ihihihih). Neste filme, Peter Jackson volta a fazer um trabalho fantástico com os efeitos especiais. O trabalho, a imaginação que não devem ter sido precisos para criar toda aquela atmosfera, monstros, etc! A escolha de actores também é excelente!Um especial destaque para a Naomi Watts que grita tão bem como as actrizes dos primeiros filmes do King Kong gritavam. E aqueles olhares estão muito bons também (ehehehe), apesar de para o fim já serem demais. A verdade é que não consigo imaginar mais ninguém a fazer aquele papel. Ela está muito bem mesmo. Consegue-nos fazer ver apenas a Ann Darrow, a Nicole Kidman por exemplo não dava para este papel, já está muito marcada (se é que me entendem). A Naomi Watts consegue fazer vários tipos de personagens (lembram-se dela no Mulholland Drive?) sem que fique marcada. Adorei a cena em que ela consegue "dobrar" o Kong, é hilariante!Os restantes actores também estãomuito bem, com excepção, do Adrien Brody, muito lamechas...Destaque também para Jack Black, uma surpresa, e Kyle Chandler.
Resumindo: Dêem uma oportunidade ao Kong!
